Nowadays what does it mean to be a Christian in America? Go to church, sing some songs, maybe get down and pray a few times or wipe the dust off the Bible, right? In today's society, as long as you are a 'good' person, you get off the hook. People who do a little more than the usual are either shunned or ignored because they are outside the norm; they swim against the flow. Christians have been put into a box...or have we put ourselves in the box?
David Platt, author of "Radical," says that most Christians here today have changed true Christianity in to their own little world. We have adapted services so that we can sleep in, added coffee shops so we don't fall asleep during the sermon (even though we got to sleep in to begin with), and added comfy chairs to make it even harder to stay awake. WE HAVE ADAPTED...and by adapting, we have altered the focus of our lives. Platt says that TRUE Christians need to give EVERYTHING.
